About Sweet Pricing

Sweet Pricing helps mobile game and app developers with dynamic pricing. Our technology prices millions of in-app purchases every day, helping our customers increase revenue and engage their price-sensitive users.

Founded by Brendon Boshell in 2016, Sweet Pricing grew to work with more than 80 mobile apps on both Google Play and the App Store. We built one of the first SDKs that provides dynamic pricing for in-app purchases, producing an average revenue uplift of 16%.

We are different to other dynamic pricing companies. Our ‘true SaaS’ approach offers a self-service solution with scalable pricing. There are no consultants, lengthy onboarding projects or tailoring. Every customer gets the same great product and service, from the smallest indie developers to those with millions of monthly active users.

Why Dynamic Pricing?

Dynamic pricing is important for freemium mobile apps. Most mobile apps today use static pricing: every user sees and pays the same price for the in-app purchases that a mobile app sells.

But, there is an obvious problem with static pricing. Because no matter what price a mobile app charges for its in-app purchases, it will always divide the audience into two groups. One group of price-sensitive users will think the prices are too high and not be willing to make a purchase. And another group of users would perhaps have been willing to pay more.

With static pricing, developers think of their sales as being somehow related to the price of their in-app purchases. And since revenue is just the product of the number of products they sell and the price they sell at, they are trying to find that single optimal price point that maximizes their overall revenue.

Dynamic pricing, however, recognizes that every user is different. And the price-sensitivity that each user exhibits is different. Dynamic pricing tries to do is model that relationship and factor in certain user characteristics to predict how users will respond to different price points. Once we have that, we are able to optimize prices for individual users or groups of users that share some characteristic.

And it’s because of this that dynamic pricing can increase revenue and engage price-sensitive users in a way that static pricing cannot. And that’s very powerful for developers because they can stay competitive.
